Biggest football training complex & stadium in SL is being constructed in Jaffna

The largest fully fledged football training complex and stadium in Sri Lanka is being constructed in Kaithady, Jaffna with financial assistance from West German Republic and World Football Federation, at a cost of Rs. 50 million.

Work on the building complex has now been completed, only the preparation of the playground remains to be done, states the Ministry of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development.

The management of the entire complex has been entrusted to Ariyalai Football Sports Club as the ownership of the playground vests with them.

Minister Douglas Devananda, paying a visit to the construction site recently, said that the upcoming football training complex would prove to be an ideal venue for training of all the football players of the country whilst paving way for the northern football players to attain international standard.
