The Hardy Advanced Technology Institute in Ampara will be upgraded as a university, Chairman of Deyata Kirula and Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology, Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said. The government spends Rs. 1.075 billion for the constructions in the Hardy Institute which is the venue of the exhibition.
Once upgraded, the 56-year old institute, will be the island' first technology university.
Hardy Advanced Technology Institute is named after Canadian born scholar Prof. Evan Alan Hardy. The institute offers a number of well recognized technological courses.
