President leaves for India

 
President Mahinda Rajapaksa left for India early this morning where he will take part in several religious activities.

During the two-day visit, President Rajapaksa will visit the main temple complex in Bodh Gaya and lay foundation stones for a cultural center at the Maha Bodhi Society of India and a pilgrims' rest.

The President will also meet with head Buddhist priests from various countries.

Before returning to Sri Lanka, President Rajapaksa is also expected to visit the Venkateswara Temple for religious activities.
