Sri Lanka and Iran are currently enjoying excellent ties and boast numerous capacities, especially in the fields of commerce, economy, health and culture, the Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi has said. The Iranian Foreign Minister has said the two countries enjoy abundant potentials and capacities for developing their all-out relations, the official Iranian news agency FNA reported. Salehi expressed these views when Sri Lanka's new ambassador to Iran Mohammad Feisal Razin presented a copy of his credentials to the Iranian Foreign Minister on Saturday in Teheran. The Sri Lankan envoy has referred to the status of Iran in the region and expressed Sri Lanka's preparedness to promote cooperation in various fields. The two sides have agreed to increase ties more than ever before during a meeting between the Foreign Minister and the Sri Lankan Minister of Industry and Commerce Rishad Bathiyutheen when he led an economic delegation to Teheran in December 2012.
