Special envoy of Japanese PM calls on President


A special envoy of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and the executive managing advisor of Japan's NHK International Mamoru Morohoshi, called on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees on February 23.

The envoy carried a message from Prime Minister Abe expressing his good wishes for the President.

President Rajapaksa and the Japanese envoy held discussions on several matters of mutual interest to both countries, the President's media unit said.

Japanese Ambassador in Sri Lanka Nobuhito Hobo, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga and Secretary of Mass Media and Information Dr. Charitha Herath were also present at the meeting with the President.
