Defence Ministry advises SL travelers to avoid Tamil Nadu

 
In view of the current situation prevailing in the southern Indian State of Tamil Nadu the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development has advised Sri Lankan travelers to avoid Tamil Nadu when transiting to other states in India.

Issuing a statement Military Spokesman Ruwan Wanigasooriya said, “Sri Lankan tour operators who organize group pilgrimages to Indian destination have also been advised to avoid Chennai and to use air ports in other states.”

“If the final destination in India is Tamil Nadu the travelers are required to contact Sri Lankan High Commission in Delhi or branch office in Chennai and seek advise,” the statement added.
