Many development projects progressing in villages


Ministry of Economic Development has launched many accelerated infrastructure development projects to renovate roads, culverts and bridges throughout the island.

The Ministry has launched a project to widen the route 205 in Waturagama in Gampaha to carry out development activities in the Bulathpitiya, Hiripitiya areas. The bridges and culverts on the road are being renovated at a cost of 650 million rupees.

The Ministry is also providing funds for a project to carpet on the road from Menikhinna to Maha Nuwara at a cost of 100 million rupees.

A drinking water project has been launched in the Dodangoda Divisional Secretariat Office area at a cost of 4.3 million rupees for the benefit of 375 families.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs is spending 110 million rupees to modernize Thumpane, Minipe and Patha Dumbara Divisional Secretariat Offices in Kandy district.

A project to develop the facilities in the Naula town at cost of 50 million rupees is under progress. The project will construct a new modern auditorium, an Ayurveda hospital and a playground.
