President Mahinda Rajapaksa condemned the bomb attack in Boston and called it an act of cowardice.

In a message to U.S. President Barrack Obama, President Rajapaksa conveyed his condolences over the loss of life and injuries.

President Rajapaksa drawing parallels to the LTTE suicide attack on Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle at the start of a marathon in April 2008, said Sri Lanka very well understands the pain and brutality of terrorism.

He called on all the countries to get together to eliminate the scourge of terrorism.
