The annual international workshop of SAARC Human Resource Development Center (SHRDC) commenced in Colombo Tuesday with the participation of SAARC countries.
This year's workshop, held From May 28-30 in Colombo, is on "Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) for Skills Development in the SAARC Region".
This year's workshop organized in Sri Lanka by the SAARC Human Resource Development Centre (SHRDC) Islamabad, will analyze the emergence, operation and performance of existing PPPs for skills development in the region.
It will provide the participants with an opportunity to share experiences related to skills development through PPPs in their respective countries.
The three-day workshop will discuss shortfalls and significant challenges faced by the Member States in meeting the skills development needs of the people. It will also provide an opportunity to discuss mainstreaming of skills development programs through PPPs and expanding their scopes within the region.
This year's workshop is expected to introduce new strategies and to exchange regional experiences in skills development in the development paradigm of Sri Lanka.
