President credits economic policies of the government for country's growth


President Mahinda Rajapaksa said the country's economy has been strengthened due to the correct economic policies of the government and urged the public not to be misled by the false propaganda.

Addressing a function held Friday at the Academy of Financial Studies to present the 2012 annual report of the Ministry of Finance to him, the President also pointed out that economic and development policies should be implemented in the country focusing on the future generation rather than the present.

He said the country is moving forward while achieving development goals uplifting living status of the general public and a massive development in the infrastructure facilities has taken place in the island as never before in the history.

The President stressed that the country's development drive cannot be dismantled by insults or false allegations.

Secretary to the Ministry of finance Dr. P.B. Jayasundara presented the Annual Report 2012 of the Ministry of Finance and Planning to the President.
