President Mahinda Rajapaksa will appoint a commission to conduct a complete probe into the 154 individual skeletal remains found in a mass grave at Matale.
President has decided to appoint a commission to make a full inquiry into Matale mass grave in addition to the police inquiry, Presidential spokesman said.
Composition of the commission and the modalities to be followed will be announced shortly.
Forensic experts last week confirmed that the grave discovered could not be older than 1986 and not newer than 1990.
Two reports were filed at the Matale magistrate's court last week, following tests done at the grave by archaeologists and judicial medical officers, which said that the grave dates back to 1986-1990.
