Malaysia detains organizers of screening Channel 4 documentary


The organizers of a screening of the latest Channel 4 documentary were detained by the Malaysian Police yesterday, the Star reported.

Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Malaysia, I. Ansar had protested to Malaysian authorities when he received information that the film “No Fire Zone” was to be screened.

According to the paper three organisers of the documentary film screening at the Kuala Lumpur And Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall were detained by Malaysia’s Home Ministry, Immigration and police officials.

Director of the film Callum Macrae too had been questioned.
