Sri Lanka's first exploration and production symposium will commence today.
In a press statement, Ceylan Energy, Sri Lanka's first oil and gas exploration and production company said it was sponsoring and participating in the symposium in Colombo and Kandy between July 9th and 12th.
The invitation-only symposium, organized by the Petroleum Resources Development Secretariat (PRDS) will be open to companies who have purchased Sri Lankan data on offshore blocks.
The E&P Symposium is designed to connect prospective bidders, service providers, government officials, and local companies in both formal and informal settings.
Earlier in the year, representatives from Ceylan Energy attended roadshows in Houston in US, Singapore and London to promote the second Sri Lankan licensing round for oil and gas exploration in the seas off Sri Lanka.
The PRDS recently extended its deadline until Nov. 29 to accept bids for 13 offshore blocks in the Cauvery and Mannar basins.
