Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Indian Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde visited the Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya yesterday, the site of a series of bomb blasts on Sunday morning in which two Buddhist monks were injured, the NDTV reported.
Calling the Bodh Gaya blasts "alarming", Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said the government will investigate the incident from all possible angles and will not arrest anyone in hurry.
The Home Minister was accompanied by Sonia Gandhi and senior party leader Ambika Soni.
Religious places in India may now be protected by the paramilitary, the Home Minister said after the visit. Mr Shinde said the Centre will consider CISF security for holy sites.
