Human Rights Commission sets up hotline for public complaints


The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) has set up a hotline for the public to complain about human rights related issues.

The Commission said that a four digits hotline 1996 has been opened to the general public for their convenience.
The Commission has noted that people could inform of any urgent complaints via this hotline.

According to the Human Rights Commission, the number of the hotline is 1996, which is also the year when the Commission was set up.

The five-member Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka is an independent commission, which was set up to promote and protect human rights in the country.
