The Budget 2014 (Appropriation Bill) will be presented to Parliament on November 21 by President Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as the Finance Minister, Mass Media and Information Minister and Cabinet Spokesman Keheliya Rambukwella said.
Addressing the Cabinet press briefing at the Ministry auditorium yesterday, the minister said the second reading of the budget will continue for seven days with the delivery of the Budget Speech by the President.
The vote of the Second Reading of the Budget is due on November 29. The Committee Stage debate of the Budget will commence on November 30 and will continue until December 20. The final vote of the Budget will be taken up on December 20. Parliament sittings will be conducted every day except on Sundays and Poya Day during the period of Budget debate.
The Minister said the Appropriation Bill will be presented to Parliament on October 22 to be placed in the order paper of Parliament.
