SL, UN sign MoU on Millennium Campaign

The Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nation in New York, Ambassador Dr. Palitha Kohona, and the Director of the United Nations Millennium Campaign, Ms. Corinne Woods, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Chancery premises on October 18.

A contribution to the UNDP Thematic Trust Fund in Support of Poverty Reduction, Sri Lanka will contribute a sum of USD $70,000 to the United Nations Millennium Campaign and the United Nations Development Programme. The MoU also includes technical assistance for the 2014 World Conference on Youth.

Last year, Sri Lanka donated USD $30,000 to the trust Fund established for the United Nations Secretary Generalís Youth Envoy.

Sri Lanka remains proactively engaged in promoting youth engagement in national and international platforms and processes.
