The Road Development Authority (RDA) earned an income of Rs. 3 million as toll fees from 11,000 vehicles that entered the Colombo - Katunayake Expressway within 12 hours since its opening on Sunday.
According to an official over 3,000 vehicles entered the Expressway within an hour after it was opened to the public on Sunday evening.
"The Authority earned an income of Rs. 800,000 within an hour after the road was opened to the public. This is a 100 percent increase compared to the income earned by the Authority from the Southern Expressway on the first day," he said.
