Sri Lanka to host 8th Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport (EST) Forum in Asia


Minister of Environment and Renewable Energy Susil Premajayantha announced that Sri Lanka will host the 8th Regional Environmentally Sustainable Transport (EST) Forum in Asia in October 2014 in concert with the Better Air Quality Conference.

Around 200 participants including delegates from 24 countries in the Asia-Pacific region are expected to attend the conference.

The forum is jointly organized by the Air Resources Management and International Cooperation Unit of the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Energy and the Clean Air Asia Institution.

The first conference to assemble governmental officials and delegates of transport and environment ministries in Asian countries, the "International Conference on Environmentally Sustainable Transport" was held in August 2005 in Nagoya.
