“Nenasa - 2” Educational Channel launched

President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday launched the “Nenasa - 2” Educational Television Channel during a function held at Ruhunu Vijayabha Vidyalaya in Tangalle, organized to coincide with the 46th death anniversary of veteran politician D.A. Rajapaksa.

The Nenasa Scheme is in operation to broaden Distance Educational opportunities for schools equipped with Mahindodaya Technical Laboratories constructed along with the 1000 Secondary Schools programme established with the intention of achieving the aims as enunciated in the Mahinda Chinthana Way Forward.

In an effort to bridge the widening rural-urban digital chasm in the education system, Dialog piloted the Digital Bridge distance learning initiative across rural schools in partnership with the Ministry of Education (MoE) of Sri Lanka.
