President opens Ape Gama today


President Mahinda Rajapaksa will ceremonially open the ‘Ape Gama’ built under the Economic Development Ministry’s Divi Neguma National Programme at the Jana Kala Kendraya, Battaramulla on Wednesday, November 13 at 5.00 p.m. Built according to a concept of Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa Ape Gama comprises all features of a traditional village.

Although it will be opened for those participating in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) it will thereafter be a permanent feature open to the public, foreign and local tourists and others 365 days of the year. All facilities the visitors require are included in the Ape Gama. The facilities include a branch of Laksala
