‘Reflection of Sri Lanka’ to draw 70 nations


The Government is to host a massive and ambitious promotional exhibition coinciding with the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting themed “Reflection of Sri Lanka: Exploring the Wonder of Asia – Trade Tourism and Investment Exhibition in Colombo, which will attract representatives from 70 nations.

The exhibition, which will be held at the Jana Kala Kendraya in Battaramulla from 13 -17 November will also see 1000 buyers both from the Commonwealth and outside, including the 450 top rung global delegates who will be arriving here for the Commonwealth Business Forum as well. ‘Reflections of Sri Lanka’ is co-organized by, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the EDB functioning under it, joined by Sri Lanka Tourism, and The Board of Investment.

Addressing a news conference Investment Promotion Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena said: “This will be the ideal opportunity to showcase the opportunities which are available now and which will also dispel the wrong international perceptions about this country as well. Along with Ministry of Industry and Commerce Minister Rishad Bathiudeen, also present were Deputy Minister of Economic Development Susantha Punchinilame, Secretary, Ministry of Industry and Commerce Anura Siriwardena, Secretary, Ministry of Mass Media Charitha Herath
