The Central Bank will hold its annual Bank Directors’ Symposium today (11).
The symposium will be attended by over 200Directors and Chief Executive Officers of 24 licensed commercial banks and 9 licensed specialised banks. This is the sixth consecutive symposium to be held with a view to updating and sharing the new developments in the economy including the regulatory environment order to strengthen banks’ resilience to meet upcoming challenges and to facilitate reshaping their business models by exploring new opportunities and keeping pace with growing economic needs of the country, stated the Central Bank.
The main theme of this year’s Directors’ Symposium will be“Beyond a Ten Trillion Banking Sector”. Mr. Ajith Nivard Cabraal, Governor of the Central Bank will deliver the keynote address.
The symposium will also deliberate on the following topics:Building resilience in the Banking Sector;Changing role of a Bank Director;Insights to achieving Business Excellence;and Expansion and Stability: a Balancing Act.
