President Mahinda Rajapaksa and First Lady Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksa arrived in Jerusalem, Israel, Wednesday (Jan. 08) morning for the final stop in their visit to the Middle East.
The President and the delegation arrived in Jerusalem from Bethlehem where President Rajapaksa concluded a two-day visit, following another two-day visit in Jordan.
President Rajapaksa is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and tour religious sites in Jerusalemís Old City. On Thursday (Jan. 10) the President will meet with Israeli President Shimon Peres, attend a tree-planting and meet with a business delegation.
Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L. Peiris, Monitoring MP of the Ministry of External Affairs Mr. Sajin de Vass Gunawardena, Parliamentarians Ms. Kamala Ranatunga and Mr. Roshan Ranasinghe, and Secretary to the President Mr. Lalith Weeratunga comprise the delegation.
