The First Lady of Uganda Janet Museveni has expressed her appreciation to the government and people of Sri Lanka for its support to the people of Uganda when she hosted her Sri Lankan counterpart First Lady Shiranthi Wickremasinghe Rajapaksa for a state dinner in her honor.
First Lady accompanied by the Sri Lankan delegation is on a four-day state visit to Uganda to lay a foundation stone and unveil the plan for the construction of a vocational training institute at UWESO's Masuliita Children's Home, the Ugandan daily New Vision reported.
The vocational training institute is a gift from the Sri Lankan government to help uplift the lives of vulnerable children in Uganda.
The Ugandan First Lady said her country values Sri Lanka's support and thanked Mrs. Rajapaksa for traveling to Uganda to ensure that this gift reaches the rightful people.
She prayed that the few days spent by the visiting First Lady are truly memorable and that she returns another time to be able to visit other parts of Uganda.
Sri Lankan First Lady in return has said that the gift of a vocational training institute to be constructed at Masuliita signifies the friendship between the two countries which should continue to grow.
