President calls on world not to sow hatred in Sri Lankan society again

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has said that the international community should not take initiatives to sow hatred in Sri Lankan society again. He emphasized that they should realize those who can discharge their duties towards the country and support them.

“Ending the era of hatred and suspicion the Government has taken steps to consolidate peace and reconciliation among communities in the country”, said the president, emphasizing that no one will be allowed to destroy the established peace and reconciliation in the country.

He made these remarks at an award winning ceremony organized under the Mother Sri Lanka project at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium yesterday (11) to hand over certificates and gifts to students who participated in the project named RUN.

He called on the international community to visit the country and make inquiries from the children, rather than arriving in the country and staying in five star hotels.

The president added that the statements made by the children always strengthen the future path of the government and said that he is delighted to see all children are living in harmony at present.

The President Rajapaksa also said that the aim of the government is to make children better citizens who loves their country.
