A Pasikudah model Coconut Park is to be opened adjoining to Pasikudah Bay with the aim of developing tourism.

This project which is carried out by the Ministry of Coconut Development and Janatha Estate Development and Coconut Development Board is operated in Pasikudah as tourists congregate in thousands in the area. The park is being constructed over 238 acres. Another 25 acres adjoining this estate will be developed as a tourist zone.

Under this, the tourists will have an opportunity to spend their leisure time in a fresh and free coconut land. Also, they will experience the traditional methods of coconut productions in Sri Lanka.

It is expected that this will create opportunities to promote coconut based products and create employment for the people in the area.
