Will not allow any community to step on another - President

I will not allow any community to step on another in this country. It is the objective of the Government to make the lives of all Sri Lankans prosperous, said President Mahinda Rajapaksa. He assured not to allow an injustice to happen to any community in the country.

The President was addressing the gathering at the opening ceremony of Manmunai Bridge in Batticaloa yesterday (April 19).

The President said all leaders present in that meeting will not allow any injustice to be forced on anyone, and that certain groups are attempting to create issues among communities by spreading falsehoods.

President Rajapaksa said there was enough fighting a war for thirty years, suffering for thirty years and putting the country's development backward for thirty years.

The time is now to provide better education and a better future for the children and live enjoying the freedom that has been established to live without any fear or suspicion', the President said.
