Rattota and Ukuwela Development plan


Steps have been taken by the government to launch a massive development project in Rattota electorate.

This was following a request by Matale district parliamentarian and Deputy Higher Education Minister Nandhimithra Ekanayaka.

In accordance with that the infrastructure facilities in 127 Gramaseva divisions in Rattota and Ukuwela divisional secretariat areas, will be promoted.

Under the Ekagamakata-Ekawedak (one project for one village), Gama-Neguma, Palath-Neguma, and Divi-Neguma concepts, the proposed development projects will be implemented while the development of minor irrigation schemes and barren paddy lands are to be ameliorated.

The construction of bridges and development of schools will also be commenced.

Rs. 361 million has been allocated by the Economic Development Ministry while all development activities will be ended within the current year.
