President to attend Modi's swearing-in ceremony

 

President Mahinda Rajapaksa will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister - elect of India Narendra Modi scheduled to be held on May 26 at the forecourt of Rastrapathi Bawan.

The Miistry of External Affairs said that he has accepted the Indian Government’s formal invitation to President Mahinda Rajapaksa to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister - elect of India Narendra Modi.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa last Friday congratulated Narendra Modi on his party's resounding victory in the general election and invited him for a State visit to Sri Lanka. Cabinet Spokesman, Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said Mr Modi has accepted the invitation extended to him by President Rajapaksa to visit Sri Lanka at a convenient date.
