Navy salvages Helicopter Debris from Chalai Seas


Divers of the Sri Lanka Navy salvaged the debris of a helicopter in the seas 01 nautical mile east of Chalai in the Northern Province on 25th May 2014.

SLN Landing Craft Mechanized Ranagaja and Fast Attack Craft P492 attached to the Northern Naval Command assisted the diving operation, which was carried out under the direction of Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage and the supervision of Commander Northern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Sarath Dissanayake.

The salvaged parts were handed over to the Sri Lanka Air Force for further investigations
