Public Grievance Redress Mechanism launched


President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday (22) launched a Public Grievance Redress Mechanism prepared by the Ministry of Public Management Reforms. The mechanism named “Public Grievance Management” aims at resolving problems faced by citizens in obtaining public services. Under this system, people can lodge their grievances to be redressed by the respective institution. The public can lodge complaints through web or Government Information hotline 1919.

The public can also lodge complaints to the public relations division units at the respective institutions. Feedback related to the complaints investigation progress can also be obtained via email. Ministers Naveen Dissanayake, Bandula Gunewardene, Chief of Presidential Staff Gamini Senarath, Secretary to the Prime Minister S. Amarasekera and Secretary to the Ministry of Public Management Reforms W. M. Bandusena too were present at the launch, which took place at Temple Trees.
