The negotiations were led on the Polish side by Ms Isabelle Szymajda-Wojtidchowska, Vice President for Air Transport and other senior officials of Polish Civil Aviation Authority, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and LOT Polish Airlines.

The meeting was conducted, underlining the excellent relations between Sri Lanka and Poland. Subsequent to the negotiations, both parties entered into a new Air Services Agreement, incorporating recent developments in the civil aviation industry and signed a Memorandum.

This Agreement will supersede the previous Air Services Agreement between and beyond the respective territories of Sri Lanka and Poland which was signed in January 1982.

The outcome of these negotiations would be beneficial not only to the increase of tourism and trade, but also the bilateral cooperation between Sri Lanka and Poland.
