GL briefs Slovania’s President on SL’s development


On the sidelines of the Bled Strategic Forum, at which he was a panelist, External Affairs Minister Professor G. L. Peiris called on President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor and briefed him on current developments in Sri Lanka.

Among the other matters discussed at this meeting were Sri Lanka’s leadership role as Chair-in-Office of the Commonwealth and Chair of the Group of 15.

The President of Slovenia also showed interest in Sri Lanka’s role in the Non-Aligned Movement, of which the country was a Founding Member, and in the present initiatives of SAARC.

Prof. Peiris during his official visit to Slovenia held bilateral discussions with Slovenia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Karl Erjavec, National Assembly of Slovenia President (Speaker) Dr. Milan Brglez, Hungary’s Foreign Affairs and Trade Minister Tabor Navaracsics, Serbia’s First Vice President and Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic, Macedonia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Nikola Poposki and Slovenia’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Samo Hribar Milic.
