President pays last respects to Bala Tampoe and Bandula Vithanage


President Mahinda Rajapaksa paid his final respects to veteran Labour leader Bala Tampoe and veteran artiste Bandula Vithanage, yesterday (Sep. 4).

President Rajapaksa visited the Head Office of the Ceylon Mercantile Union in Kollupitiya and paid his last respects to veteran Trade Union Leader and a pioneer in the local leftist movement. The President expressed his condolences to family members of Bala Tampoe.

In the meantime, the President also paid his last respects to veteran playwright, tele drama director, script writer and actor Bandula Vithanage. The President visited the funeral parlour where his remains are lying and also conveyed his condolences to the family members.
