President visits Mahiyanganaya Rajamaha Viharaya
Agasas Maha Mangalyaya in Girandurukotte


President Mahinda Rajapaksa participated in the Agasas Maha Mangalyaya, the offering of the new harvest to the Buddha and deities at Dharmodaya Priven Viharaya in Girandurukotte yesterday (September 11).

The farmers of Mahaweli C Division offered their new rice harvest for the Yala season at the Agasas Maha Mangalyaya amidst religious observances.

In the afternoon, President Rajapaksa visited the Mahiyanganaya Rajamaha Viharaya yesterday (September 11). During the visit the President engaged in religious activities at the temple, Buddha mandiraya, Relics Chamber and the Saman Devalaya and received the blessings.

The President called on Ven Rajakeeya Panditha Urulewatte Dhammarakkitha Nayake Thero, Chief Incumbent of the Mahiyanganaya Rajamaha Viharaya and received his blessings.
