President launches special website on his engagements at UN


President Mahinda Rajapaksa launched a special website to focus on both the President’s and Sri Lanka's activities and engagements with the United Nations System. The President launched the site prior to his participation at the 69th United Nations General Assembly in New York this week.

The new site can be accessed at the following address:

Having been a member state since 1955, Sri Lanka has and continues to engage with all U.N. systems. The new website is being launched as a repository of the President's work at the United Nations and the Government's collaborations with various U.N. organizations Coverage of UNGA 69.

All information pertaining to President Rajapaksa’s participation at the 69th United Nations General Assembly and other official events taking place in New York will be made available in trilingual formats in a timely manner via this website.

President Rajapaksa left for New York last night (Sep. 21) to attend the 69th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) at the United Nations Headquarters in New York to be held on September 24.
