The governments of Sri Lanka and the United States will host a Business Networking Conference on October 16-17 to explore trade and investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.
The Conference will be held on the margins of the Eleventh Joint Council Meeting under the U.S.-Sri Lanka Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA), scheduled to be held from October 14-16, 2014 in Colombo.
At the Conference on October 16th, participants will be able to meet with Sri Lankan private sector representatives as well as senior government officials responsible for economic policy.
The event is designed to allow one-on-one meetings to learn about Sri Lanka’s trade and investment regime, to make industry contacts, and to discuss specific trade and investment opportunities in Sri Lanka.
The Conference will explore trade and investment opportunities in areas such as BPO/ IT, Healthcare, Fisheries, Tourism & Leisure, Infrastructure, Diamonds/Gems & Jewelry, Manufacturing, Processed Food and Education.
Economic development has the potential to play significant role in transforming the challenges of post-conflict reconstruction and ethnic reconciliation into opportunities for U.S. businesses in Sri Lanka, the organizers of the event said.
