President participates in religious activities


President Mahinda Rajapaksa engaged in religious observances at the Sri Vajirashramaya Buddhist Centre in Colombo yesterday (Oct. 9).
The Katina Cheevara Pooja and series of religious activities of the Sri Vajirashramaya Buddhist Centre were commenced on Poya day (Oct. 8). The President who visited the Vihare engaged in religious observances and secured blessings.

Thereafter the President met the Chief Incumbent of the temple and inquired into his wellbeing. He also offered Pirikara to the prelate.
The President also met the devotees at the temple and exchanged pleasantries with them. Presidential Chief of Staff Gamini Senarath was present on the occasion.
