Jobs for unemployed youth in Mullaitivu

 

Hirdaramani Group, Sri Lanka's one of top apparel manufacturers, with the objective of empowering the lives of youngsters in Mullaitivu, is to established one of its branches at Puthukudiyiruppu, Mullaitivu, following initiatives, launched by Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Mullaitivu (SFHQ-MLT) on Sunday (Oct. 12).

SFHQ-MLT took an initiative calling for potential applicants willing to join the industry and interviews thereafter were attended by about 160 woman applicants, but only 35 females were qualified to take up such openings, as per their qualifications.

Afterwards the SFHQ-MLT, making one of its buildings available to the industry, facilitated the conduct of training sessions for those selected woman applicants for two months before they are to be absorbed as permanent employees. Hirdaramani provided training resources.

The factory on completion expects to provide thousands of job opportunities to females in the Mullaitivu District.

During a brief ceremony at Puthukudiyiruppu Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, SFHQ-MLT, together with other invitees, laid the foundation stone for construction of the new garment factory which is able to produce knitted and readymade garments of export quality.
