Defense Ministry to conduct survey on lost properties in North


The Ministry of Defense and Urban Development is preparing to conduct a survey on the Sri Lankans who lost their properties in the North and during the war.

The Ministry in a release has announced that it will conduct the survey of the properties and lands that belonged to the residents of north and were lost due to the terrorism from 1980.

The release, has requested all Sri Lankan citizens who have lost their property and land to submit details and forward that information to the Defense and Urban Development Ministry at 15/5, Baladaksha Mawatha, Colombo 3.

The owners of lost properties are required to submit their name and land's name, address, telephone/email address, Grama Seva/Divisional Secretary's Division and the district of the complainant along with the details of the land such as address, names of the occupants, year of dispossession/displacement, Grama Seva/Divisional Secretary's Division and if any the photocopies of the supporting documents, the national news agency Lankapuvath h reported.

The release added that complaints from property/land issues that have been already settled will not be accepted.
