Give priority to education as it will help you climb up in society, President advises students
President opens six more Mahindodaya Laboratories

 

“Education is the only thing that cannot be robbed from you. Education will help you climb up in society and lead a prosperous life, so give priority to education,” said President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

While opening several Mahindodaya Technological Laboratories yesterday (Oct. 28) in the Eastern Province, the President urged the children to use the new facilities at their disposal to further their education.

The President said his Government was always committed to ensuring that the benefits of technology are not limited to a privileged few, but reach all sections of the society.

The President pointed out that the Government had added technological studies to the school curriculum with the intention of making learning relevant to suit the modern day needs and industry expectations.

“In this respect, the Mahindodaya Technological Laboratories will bring the facilities required to all areas to help learn technological studies, science, Maths, IT and languages,” he added.

The President pointed out that equipped with state-of-the-art facilities; the new laboratories include an IT lab with 40 computers, a science laboratory, mathematics laboratory, language laboratory with 20 computers and a distance education unit.

The President said the building of such facilities will continue in all corners of the country.

President Rajapaksa yesterday opened new Mahindodaya Technological Laboratories at Al Tharique Muslima Vidayalaya in Kantale, Central College, Kantale, Mahamaya Vidyalaya in Kantale, Mollipotana Sinhala Maha Vidyalaya in Thambalagamuwa. Al Hijra Muslim Vidyalaya in Thambalagamuwa, Al Aksha Muslim Vidyalaya in Kinniya.
