President opens "Vision of a Nation" Photo Exhibition

 

A rare photographic exhibition titled “Vision of a Nation” (Rataka Dekma) consisting of a large number of photographs recording the invaluable services to the country performed by Leaders of the Nation after gaining independence on 4th february1948 was opened by President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Saturday (Nov.01).

This 3-day exhibition opens to the public is being held at the Independence Square, Colombo.07 from 9am to7pm.

The Creative Director of the exhibition presented by the Department of Government Information is Sudath Silva who is credited with being the official photographer to the four Executive Presidents and who has hands on experience in the field for thirty continuous years.

The President visited the exhibition on Saturday evening when he mingled with visitors comprising schools children as well as adults.

Among the visitors to the exhibition were Members of the Maha Sanga and the clergy Ambassadors, Ministers and High officials of government service. Director General of Government Information Prof. Ariyarathna Athugala and the Director Information Wasanthapriya Ramanayake were also present on the occasion.
