Democratic People's Congress pledges support to President

Democratic People's Congress (DPC) has pledged its support to President Mahinda Rajapaksa at the upcoming presidential election when the party representatives met the President Tuesday at Temple Trees.

The party delegation led by its leader Colombo District MP Prabha Ganeshan, who was sworn in as the Deputy Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology in August, pledged its support to the President, who was just cleared by the Supreme Court to contest for a third term.

The DPC delegation said the President Rajapaksa is the only leader who has a clear, right vision to develop the country and the party is therefore supporting him to ensure his victory at the next presidential elections. Minister s Susil Premajayantha, T. B. Ekanayake, and Governor of Western Province Alevi Maulana also participated in the meeting.
