Following his inaugural election campaign rally in Anuradhapura President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday took his campaign to meet people in the South.
During his tour in Matara district, the President visited the Kottegoda Suduwella Fisheries Harbor and observed the facility at a cost of Rs. 350 million developed under the Mahinda Chintana policy.
Welcoming the President the fisheries community presented some of the problems they are facing and the President paid attention to their grievances. He promised to provide the funds needed to complete the construction of the harbor promptly.
Addressing public in Akuressa and Thelijjawila in Matara district, the President said he will focus major attention during his third term to create a generation which could win the world.
In the first term commenced in 2005, the country was liberated from terrorism and the pledge to develop the nation given in the in the second term has been fulfilled, the President said.
