Postal voting begins


Postal voting for the upcoming Presidential election to elect the country’s seventh executive president will be held today and tomorrow (December 23 and 24).

According to the Elections Secretariat, December 30th has been included as an additional day for those who were unable to vote on the earlier two days.

The Department of Elections has registered 541,131 voters for postal voting. The Department has handed over polling cards to the Postal Department to be delivered to eligible voters, which include public servants, police and armed forces personnel and those selected for elections duty and essential services, during election time.
