Committed for a better future of people - President

 

President Mahinda Rajapaksa says that he will commit himself for a better future of the people as the way he resolved the problems of estate people.

Addressing a public rally in Badulla on Saturday (Dec. 27) the President pointed out that the future of the country and the people should be entrusted with a trustworthy leadership. President Rajapaksa said that he knew how they lived. He assured to provide them with housing within the next few months.

The President said that a system would be prepared so that they can get permanent income. He further said that he would never allow destroying the estate sector as some people wanted.

The Badulla District public rally to ensure victory of President Mahinda Rajapaksa was held at Badulla Wheels Park Play Ground amidst a massive crowd. Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim people arrived at the rally in processions amidst heavy showers. While giving a rousing welcome to the President, the people said that they would commit themselves for the victory of the President.

Uva Province Governor Nanda Mathew, Ministers Tissa Attanayake, Lakshman Seneviratne, Parliamentarians Rohana Pushpakumara, Uditha Lokubandara, Chamika Buddhadasa, Uva Chief Minister Shasheendra Rajapaksa and local political representatives attended the rally.
