The Conference of Attorneys General of South, South East, East and West Asia opened in Colombo today (Jan. 19) under the patronage of President Maithripala Sirisena.
The Conference of Attorneys General is organized to commemorate the 130th Anniversary of the Office of the Attorney General of Sri Lanka opened at the BMICH.
High officials of the legal sector including Attorneys General representing 16 countries were participating in this event.
Attorney General Yuwanjana Wijetilake delivered a special address the Conference.A commemorative stamp to mark the event and two books dealing on the legal sphere were released on the occasion.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe addressing the gathering revealed that the new Government was planning to adopted many amendments including the 19 Amendment to the Constitution.
Ministers Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, Rauff Hakeen and Naveen Dissanayake were among those who joined in this conference.
