Passports of Cabraal and Sajin seized

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has issued a directive to the Department of Immigration and Emigration (DIE) to seize the passports of former Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka Ajith Nivard Cabraal and Parliamentarian Sajin de Vass Gunawardena.

Controller General of Immigration & Emigration M.N. Ranasinghe told media that the bribery commission, in a letter addressed to the DIE, has directed to seize the passports of Cabraal and Gunawardena, in a bid to prevent them from leaving the country.

This came after the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) lodged a complaint with the Bribery Commission against 12 former governmental members.
