President Maithripala Sirisena emphasized the imperative need for empowering our children in every aspect to conquer the universe as there is high competition in every sector.
The President, while recalling the progress made by Sri Lanka in economic, cultural and academic sectors said Sri Lanka has to go a long way when absorbing the new technology in the modern world.
President made these comments at the EDEX educational exhibition organized by Royal College, Colombo today (January 23).
A large number of local and foreign higher education institutions have joined this exhibition which has been organized to disseminate information based on the job market.
The exhibition also aims at enforcing the children of the nation to face the global level contest.
The President pointed out the responsibility of the school as well as the parents in preparing children for future.
President Sirisena also pointed out the importance of being able to live close to the nature while pursuing studies.
The knowledge we have obtained through studying as well as practical knowledge about society is very important to overcome challenges we face, the President further said.
President commended the Old Boys’ Association of Royal College for organizing an important event of this nature.
